Catching up.....

Well, once again we had a weekend full of events so I'm just now getting around to posting some stuff. Not to mention I got the flu as well! Yes, lovely. My parents & Myra got here Saturday morning while I was at a bridal luncheon for Deana then we just hung out for a few hours at home, which was nice cause they hadn't gotten to see Jaylen crawl yet. They couldn't believe how much she had changed since they had seen her last. Then around 4, Gavan & Dad headed to the OU game and mom, Myra, Jaylen & I headed to Oaktree for wedding pictures and the wedding.

I was one of the guest book attendants so had to get a few pics snapped before, which was fine cause I got to chat with my Alva girlies. Jaylen did great before, during and after the wedding. She took a good nap and woke up during the ceremony then loved all the music at the reception. It was fun to show her off the several girls and guys from high school that had never seen her. These are the only 2 pics I took all night but oh well. Me & Deana (I need lipstick!)
Me & Darbi (again, I need lipstick!)

The flu hit me in the car on the way home from the wedding ( I know its weird that it waited till after the wedding but I'm glad) and I was down until this morning. I'm finally feeling better today just left with a head cold or something like that.

I'll leave you with a few pics of Jaylen from the past week too. She's just getting so big and wanting to do things on her own and it's killing me! No, not really.....I know she's coming up on a year and getting older.

10 months....

Yep, my baby is 10 months old today (Friday). She's crawling everywhere, getting into everything, being more "grown up" lately, talking more & more, eating more foods than just baby food and just amazes me everyday as she shows me how a child is truly a miracle only God can perform. They can learn SO much at such a young age.....it's really amazing.

Her new favorite snack.......mandarin oranges! She absolutely LOVES them!

Persistence pays off.....

Gavan & I had Sprint cell phone coverage for almost 4 years and the entire time we hated their customer service. We were always getting funky charges on our bill and it was like pulling teeth to get them to fix it. As soon as my contract was up, we switched to Altell and it's been great....no problems. Well, we ended up with a credit after we dropped Sprint cause you basically are paying for the next month when you send your check in. I started this entire "retrieving my credit check" process in the beginning of May. I called numerous times, talked to many different customer service reps ( too many of them had such strong accents that I could hardly understand them :) ), and got disconnected way too many times. Can you tell I haven't had a good experience yet? Stick with me.....it ends good.

So finally, about 2 weeks ago I called and got a very nice rep named Melaina (she spoke wonderful english!) She really did some digging for me and after finding out that the credit check was sent to our old address that we hadn't lived at for about 3 years and then our account was closed and they got rid of the software system that opened the old Sprint accounts. Somehow they figured out that the check was never cashed and said a new one would be issued to us.

I didn't really believe her because of all the crap I'd been through with them but low and behold.........I GOT MY CHECK! I couldn't believe that after 4 long months of too many extremely long phone calls that I actually got it. So I guess persistence really does pay off. Besides that was our money and it wasn't my problem that you got bought out and closed old accounts. It's easy....when a business owes you money, they owe you money. Period.

There is my whopping $49.42! And yes, it was worth it to get my 50 bucks!

28 years old......

Yep, it's my birthday today and I'm 28. I had someone tell me I was getting old and then later another person said I was still a baby so I guess I'll take the baby comment as a compliment and cherish my youth! It's really been just another day except I had a great lunch at Red Lobster. Gavan's mom, grandma, & great-gma took me out to celebrate, which was very sweet. Other than that I've been cleaning & doing laundry. Gavan brought me flowers last night so I could enjoy them all day today......that's all I asked for!

It seems like birthdays are coming around so much faster these days. It really just snuck up on me. I guess that is what having kids will do to you. Of course, I will give a happy birthday shout out to Dixie today too. We share a birthday and love celebrating it together but since she had a baby a week & a half ago we aren't together this weekend!

Where should I suggest to go for dinner tonight? I can't decide!!!!!!

Tagged.....

I was tagged by Melinda so here are my 6 random facts about myself......

1. I can't go without putting lotion all over my body after I get out of the shower. Even if it is extremely humid, I will still feel dry & itchy if I don't lotion up.

2. I met my husband when I was about 12 years old at church camp. We both went home to our parents and told them we were going to marry each other.

3. I had 2 sets of stitches in my head and a broken arm before I turned 5 years old. Michael pushed me into a brick wall for 1 set of the stitches! I also had shingles when I was in 3rd grade and missed 2 weeks of school.

4. I worked as a dental assistant for 2 years but RARELY ever floss even though I know I'm supposed to every night. I'm lazy.....

5. I had LASIK eye surgery a couple years ago and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.......plus I got a huge discount while working for Dr. Wright!

6. I've really gotten into making/painting signs for people, doing all kinds of craft projects, and sewing. I really enjoy it and once I get a project in my head, I want to work on it until I finish it.

Well, those aren't too interesting but it's all I could think of right now. Hope you all had a great Monday!

Blogging funk.....

I'm in a bit of a funk right now. Just had a busy week last week so maybe that's it. Jaylen started crawling on Thursday so that's been exciting. She's been very close for several weeks but finally went forward! Now she's on the move. I guess I'll just post a few pics from this past week.....that's all I've got!

My best friend from high school, Deana, is getting married in 2 weeks and last night was her bachelorette party/ personal shower. It was good to see my girlfriends from high school who I don't see too often.

Amanda, Sarah, Deana (the bride to be), Me, Darbi

By the way, do you think Deana & I look alike? We could of passed for sisters, if not twins, in high school.

Labor Day Weekend.....

My dad's side of the family always gets together over Labor Day and it's always at a different place and this year we went to my uncle Jeff's lake cabin at Fort Gibson lake. We got to enjoy 2 days on the lake, eat tons of yummy food as always, enjoying family worship together on Sunday and my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandma all got to love on Jaylen and Macy all weekend, which they loved cause they don't see us that often. Of course Grandpa, Grandma & Myra got to do lots of lovin' too! Such a fun time and great long weekend. I'm so sore from wakeboarding and tubing but it was lots of fun. Of course, I forgot to get my camera out until the last day but here are a few pics and a video of Gavan wakeboarding. Always a good time with the cousins....
