Only 1 time today.....
Luckily, it was only water that Jaylen threw up on me this morning and this afternoon she has actually kept down 2 small bottles of a pedialyte/formula mix! Whoohoo.......making progress. She was very sleepy, sickly, & clingy most of today but this evening she is acting better and closer to her normal self. We'll stay home from school tomorrow to make sure we kick this bug and then should be good to go!
Haven't got to really get outside but I love this weather! Bring on the Fall!

3 times.....
I guess it might be another bad week for the Byrd house........at least its not starting out good.
Jaylen threw up 3 times today...........once in her car seat, once on the floor at Sonshine School & once on me......yes, I was holding her facing me and she let it go. We went straight to the shower together. The thing is that she doesn't even act like she is sick. No fever. No fussiness. Happy attitude. Plays with her toys. Took her usual 2 naps today. But I'm assuming now that it is a 24 hour bug of some kind. Hopefully tomorrow morning the 24 hours will be up. I guess I better go change out the load of vomit laundry...........don't you just love being a mom?!
Yes, even after getting thrown up on, I still love my sweet baby Jay.
Oh yeah, pull out your scarves & gloves for the next 2 days..........it's going to be chilly!

Cardiologist.....
Just wanted to let you know that the ER doc, my cousin who is 2 years shy of being a heart surgeon, and my OB are recommending that I see a cardiologist after my fainting episode. Since I'm young, healthy & have no history of fainting spells, I need to see the cardiologist just to make sure I don't have anything wrong with my ticker......like a murmur or something like that. Heart conditions can be the reason for fainting so they just want to double check me. Plus I don't have the best family history when it comes to hearts, heart attacks, heart disease, etc. I understand this & it makes sense but it's weird thinking that I'm 28 years old and have an appointment to see a cardiologist! Anyways, my consultation is on Nov. 4th and then we'll see what tests need to be run.
My cheek did not turn nearly as black & blue as I thought it would. It did turn a little yellowish green today, which I think means its healing. Still pretty sore to the touch though....

What....a.....day.....
My day definitely didn't go as I thought it would today. Over Gavan's lunch went to see our friends at Lakeside who had their baby this morning. They had a beautiful baby girl named Drue Olivia. We each held her and talked about how much she looked like her mom. I was feeling fine and then we were getting ready to leave and I got really hot & dizzy all of a sudden and then BAM!, I PASSED OUT & SMACKED MY FACE ON THE FLOOR!
Thank goodness Gavan was holding Jaylen and nobody else got hurt. It took about a minute for me to come back to life and I had no clue as to what had happened. I woke up laying on my back with all these ladies hovering over me and touching me & my face. All I remember was getting hot & dizzy and that was it. It was the weirdest thing and has never happened to me like that before. They got me some ice and something to eat & snack on. We went to an urgent care place to check my head & face out since I did smack it pretty hard. They take fainting pretty seriously in my case cause I'm young, healthy & have no history of this.
After 2 hours of blood work, a urine sample, an EKG, 2 chest x-rays, an IV of fluids & a cheek/eye that is swelling & turning color by the minute.....I got to head home. Basically, the doc said he felt like it was caused by a combo of me not eating breakfast that morning (low blood sugar), it being hot in the room & standing for a while, having low potassium (which they found out from my blood work) and possibly some vagal response issues. I checked out fine except for the potassium so hopefully this won't happen again. It was just such a weird experience and I really can't believe it happened to me.
I did get to see several of my nurses at Lakeside who took care of my while I was on bed rest, which was lots of fun! They couldn't believe Jay is coming up on a year old now! I really didn't think they'd be wheeling me out to the car in a wheelchair when I went there today though! Embarrassing but oh well. I'm trying to take some pictures as my cheek turns colors so we'll see how they turn out. Poor Gavan, I scared him to death during all this. Sorry babe. But after everything, I'm feeling pretty good but just like someone punched me in the face. Lots of resting for me tomorrow!

And we're off.....
We are headed to Dallas this afternoon for the OU/Texas weekend. Doug & Gavan are going to the game and Dixie & I are hanging out with the kiddos. We're excited to see & love on Owen, who just turned a month old. It will be fun to see if Ethan & Jaylen play together this time since she's crawling and pulling up on stuff now. The guys are leaving early Saturday morning to get to GameDay with their posters they made. It should be a fun weekend and make sure you look for them during GameDay. Here's Gavan and his poster.........yes, its a picture of himself. I'm scared to see what picture Doug is using!
Jay's new beanie that she sported at her daddy's softball game this week. So cute.....
